Saffron Walden boasts a number of local play parks.

These include the old American playing fields, around the corner from the Victory Pub and Bridge End gardens, the play-park on Ross Close, opposite Katherine Semar primary school, as well as those on the Greenways grassy area specifically for under 5s.

Recently the swing behind the Lord Butler Sports centre have been removed, although for those ove rthe age of 10, a playpark has been specially built, offering a near unparalleled facility anywhere in the UK. (recently this was opened,, and was recognised as perhaps the best in the UK).

Another significant play park is that located on the Common, on the far corner to the Common.
