Saffron Walden dates several hundred years, and was even called by a number of other names before settling on the name Saffron Walden due to the production of Saffron dye in the last two hundred years. Saffron Walden is perhaps most historically famous for its inhabitant Oliver Cromwell, leader of the roundhead army, Saffron Walden has something amazing around every corner, and through every doorway, with a story to be told everywhere.
