The question has often been asked: Why have a Neighbourhood Watch.

It serves many purposes, from helping reduce the need for police and community support presence (thereby allowing these funds to be used for alternative benefits) to improving commmunication within an area, bringing about a more community spirited iinteraction.

It also has other benefits, such as reducing insurance premiums (due to the proven fact that an active neighbourhoood watch has a genuine effect on whether an area is targetted or not)
