Saffron Walden (Audley End station) is located on the commuter line to Liverpool St., London. With this train link taking from around an hour on the timetable, many people have moved to Saffron Walden to escape the busy lifestyle associated with being in London.

Advertising on the site is one of the ways to raise money for the site running costs, reward those who volunteer their time to help, and help local causes.

We have a total of 4 advertising positions on the website.

• The first is the banner (468x60) just above the articles. This is generally reserved for site sponsors.
• The second (120x80) are the small adverts on the right hand side above the directory. These are for sale, swapped, or donated, with proceeds going towards overheads, volunteers, and local causes.
• The third is another banner (468x60) just under the first article (although this is currently turned off, but may be reactivated in the future). This is generally reserved for local causes, sponsors, and competition prize donors.
• The fourth are the Google Adverts at the very bottom or each page. Clicking on these raises money to help fund the site and future development (we ask that you only click if you are interested in the advert!!)

The second (small) adverts are page specific, and appear on one or more of the following pages: Front page, the About section, the Events section, the Directory, the Youngsters pages, the Forum, the Classified Freecycle ads, the Blog, the newsfeeds, and so on.

These (reasonably priced) small adverts can either be purchased, donated (depending on the cause, and how it benefits the community), or swapped for competition prizes. If you would like a slot on a specific, or range of pages, please contact us.

Any money raised from these small local ads will be put towards site administration overheads, towards the volunteers who provide their time in approving content submissions (quickly scanning it to see that it appears fit for publication), and also towards local worthwhile causes. As time goes on, we shall keep you posted as to how much money we have raised for good causes, and YOU can select to where this money then goes.

Saffron Walden.net, established in 2006 (and transformed mid 2007), is a completely FREE service to readers (those in and around Saffron Walden), and allows businesses, clubs and charities to be able to add their details on to the website for FREE.

And by numerous local contributors (although more are very welcome) helping to keep the web pages of the site up to date, we hope to maintain a central record of events, to work in conjunction with other media (such as the Saffron Walden Reporter, The Walden Local, The Saffron Walden Weekly News, as well as the websites of the organisers etc.)
