Finding the right house.... 2007/08/06 18:29 Karma: 0
How can I find the right house in Saffron Walden? How will I know where is right? What about schools, traffic, parking, eating, nights out, cinemas and so on....?

Saffron Walden is a great commuter town about 40 miles north of London. It has a rail link into Liverpool St, a selection of good schools, and a whole load of amenities. Places to eat are good, although some places do vary in quality, service, and their opening hours, and not everywhere is child friendly....(in fact very few accomodate for babies or small chiildren, in either space, facilities, or a menu which does not reflect Jamie Olivers nightmares!)

Saffron Walden now has a cinema, a permanent auditorium in the Saffron Walden County High School, with a good sized screen, and comfy chairs! the timetable and details can be found at http://www.saffronscreen.com/ with a nice web site with details of whats on...

The sports centre, the Lord Butler gets a lot of bad press for the condition of the changing rooms (primarily the floor, and the temperature), the temperature of the water which is a bit brisk! It has a lot of other facilities, and as its a part funded initiative seems to spend money on what makes money, the gym, and not just on providing local facilities such as the 25m swimming pool.

Badminton, trampolining, squash, and even roller discos are just a few of the regular facilities which can be enjoyed.

Kids play parks are good, and all very 'modern'. Parking can be a nightmare in the centre, but plenty of space exists at the long stay car park.

Saffron Walden is steeped in history, and has an old pub dating back to the 1300's which later (by several hundred years) became the headquarters for Oliver Cromwell and his famous roundheads. Saffron Walden also boasts its place in the most haunted towns in the UK, with the Cross Keys pub, and a very special Georgian house further down the high street having a reputation for sightings and other worldly experiences.

It was classified as the 7th most expensive market town in the Souuth East. Whether this still stands or not I cannot say, but don't expect to find a bargain in the centre for next to nothing. Several estate agents exist, from Cheffins, Wakelins, and Mullocks, and for commercial, Snow Walker appears to have a lot of business.

the internet will get you so far, but visiting Saffron Walden, and marking out a map is the only real way to get to know where to look, and where to avoid.

With cheap(ish) flights from Stansted, and the likelyhood of expansion, it will become more touristified, and more hotels, B&B's etc. will open, as well as having a high rental demand from staff at Stansted.

As Saffron Walden is quite high above sea level, if global warming does make the sea level rise, Saffron Walden will make a nice coastal town, or island! Floods are common at the bottom of the high street, and I am unsure what is being done to avoid the lovely tudor houses from having ground floor swimming pools.

Timber framed houses look nice, but remember you have to live in it with the various shortcomings a newer house makes up for (such as cabling, improved insulation etc.), and do tend to sell for more due to the novelty and the character features. But be careful as few lenders will not lend against Timber framed houses.

And as for roads, the M11 goes from London past Cambridge towards the North (where it meets the A14/A1), and the A14/A11 North East goes to Norwich, Ipswich, and Newmarket.

Cambridge is a nice city to visit, but since it is owned by Cambridge university, recent rent hikes have pushed oput the smaller companies in favour oof the common high street brands, thereby losing some of the character. John Lewis/Robert Sayles are havving a refit, and this has affected the town layout. Once complete in a few years time, I am sure it will really start to feel better, provided more affordable car parking is available in town. Saying that, the park and ride bus service is among the best in the country.

Re:Finding the right house.... 2009/06/13 12:15 Karma: 0
It was a Sunday morning. I got up early and rushed out for bus at half past six. Obviously, it was not a usual day-actually,it was my first day as a teacher.

"It won't be a hard job." I thought after Mr. Lu phoned the week before, informing my being employed as an English teacher of a spare time school in which he was the director. I didn't find any difficulty in my new job:the texts were very simple and the students I was going to teach were only primary school pupils, which expelled my worry about making mistakes before them. However, I was afraid that I did not at all look like a teacher and as a result, the students, wouldn't listen to me.I almost spent an hour and a half on the way to school. As soon as I arrived, I rushed to Mr. Lugs office. There, with some other new comers, I listened to Mr. Lugs explanation of working rules, teachers' duties and the curriculum. Everything was all right as I had wished until I came to the door of my class room. The bell had already rung, but the class was racketing as a rock contest. "How can I manage such a group of naughty children?" I hesitated and then stepped in.
wow power leveling,
It was a small class with altogether 20 students. Some boys were chasing each other madly in delirious glee while some girls were chatting loudly in an exceptionally sharp voice. Strange enough, as they noticed me, they all returned to their seats and stopped talking. The only reason I could think out for this was that I looked like a teacher, at least in their eyes, which was a great relief to me. After a brief self-introduction, I went on to give my first lesson in English as I had prepared. To my disappointment, all my little students put on a confusing face, their eyes full of puzzle. Someone murmured, "I don't understand."And all the others echoed with nodding. They were mostly in grade 5. I must have overestimated them. I switched to Chinese at once.

in control was a great challenge.

The first day of my teaching was not perfect but satisfying enough. Si nce then I had got to know how a teacher should perform and all the situations that a teacher would run into. Though my teaching has been much improved so far, the first day of the job still remains deep in my mind.
World of warcraft Power Leveling,
People often say that gold and silver are the most valuable things in the world. But I don't think so. In my opinion, to read books is more valuable than anything else. The old saying "To open a book is always helpful" clearly tells us how good it is to read a book.

Books are our friends. They introduce us different kinds of knowledge. They lead us down the road to success.Books are our teachers. They teach us troth, science, literature, and philosophy of life. Besides, they increase our knowledge, enlarge our experience, strengthen our character and do many other things which we can not do without them.Books tell us what is good and what is evil. And only books can tell the good from the bad.

Therefore to read more books is the best policy for our young students.
There is much controversy today about whether television has destroyed communication among family and friends. Some people argue that the communication is baffled by television. Others criticize that television improve the relationship of family and friends. I totally agree with the latter one.wow gold,

Watching TV is a time for the whole family to stop from whatever they are doing to get together. While watch TV, they start to talk about the content of the movie, which is also a kind of communication. Imagining the TV disappears, we would do reading in rooms, while our family would do laundry, do washing dish or going shopping. It simply provides a chance for us to stay together. In addition, the TV supplies us with much information, which we have not known in our daily lives. Some of the constructive movies show on TV, like a family story, a love story, or so on, reinforce the relationship of a family and friends. What's more, we learn from the story that it is important to cherish the broiling of a family and friends.
World of warcraft gold,
At last, it is a kind of recreation that a family or friends can choose to have. Communication can be undertaken by many means, for example, going shopping together, entering a bar, talking intimately about ourselves. In effect, watching TV is a way to let us together and share our happiness with each other. In my opinion, TV provides us opportunity to be together and communicate. In this diversified society, TV doesn't destroy communication among us but show us another way of getting together.

Whatever Love Means
Although neither or them remembered the occasion, Diana first met her future husband when she was just a baby. It happened during the winter of 1961, when twelve-year-old Charles, Prince of Wales, was visiting his mother's Sandringham retreat. (wow power leveling,)
At the time, your Prince Charles barely glanced at the tiny baby sleeping in her cot. After all, bow could a twelve-year-old boy be interested in babies?
But the Prince would eventually take a very keen interest in this particular baby —it would just take some time.
In fact, it would be sixteen years before Prince Charles and Lady Diana Spencer took place in the middle of a farmer's field during a shooting party in November 1977.
It was a cold, rainy, bleak afternoon when sixteen-year-old Diana, dressed in a borrowed parka that was too large for her, boots, and blue jeans, crossed the field to meet the heir to the British throne.
It was almost twilight when the two came face to face near Nobottle Woods.
"What a sad man," Diana thought when she first saw him. The future Princess was intrigued to finally meet the most eligible bachelor in England, thought she was not impressed with his five-foot-ten-inch height, thinking to herself that she would tower over him in high heels. But Diana would later say that she admired his beautiful blue eyes. (World of warcraft Power Leveling)
The Prince later remarked that he thought Diana was "a very jolly and attractive" girl, "full of fun," though Diana herself believed that "he barely noticed me at all."
Diana, it was discovered later, first came to the attention of the royal family when she acted as a bridesmaid for her sister Jane's wedding that April. It was the first major social occasion that Diana attended as a young woman. And many of the royals were surprised at how beautiful and mature the once-gawky girl had become.
Even the Queen Mother. Prince Charles's grandmother, noticed Diana's beauty, grace, and charm. She complimented the Earl on the fine job he had done in bringing Diana up.
A short time later, Prince Charles sent his valet to hand-deliver a formal invitation for Diana to accompany him that very evening to the opera and a latenight dinner at the palace.
Though she was flustered, and the invitation came at such short notice, Diana accepted. She and her roommate, Carolyn Bartholomew, hurried to dress and prepare Diana for her big date. The evening was a success, and an invitation to party on the royal yacht came soon after……
Although she was intimidated by the crowd at Balmoral, Diana was wise enough not to stay in the castle itself. She asked for, and was granted, an invitation to stay with her sister Jane and her young husband at their cottage on the Balmoral estate. (wow gold)
The Prince visited Diana there every day, offering to escort her to a barbecue, or extending an invitation for a long walk in the woods.
When Charles went to Switzerland for a ski vacation, Diana missed him terribly. He called her after a day or two, and told Diana he had something important to ask her.
He arrived home on February, 3, 1981.Three days later, he arranged to see Diana at Windsor Castle. Late that evening, while Prince Charles was showing Diana the nursery, he asked her to marry him.
To his surprise, Diana treated his proposal as a joke, She actually giggled. But soon she could see that Prince Charles was serious. Despite an insistent voice inside her head that told her she would never be Queen, she accepted his proposal. (World of warcraft gold)
Di ana told Prince Charles over and over that she loved him.
"Whatever love means." Was his reply.

She enjoyed Strauss, KFC and Brazil Espresso, I know, she was like a busy bee in an office building in a decent grey dress suite. That was the case before she met me and all this has vanished since she fell in love with me.
Let me date back to 1997. I started my socalled business and she followed me without any reservation. That summer came very early and the flowers made a red city. We lived in a small suburb house, which was an illegal construction, with wind blowing through four sides into the house. That made our temporary home.

Just for saving money, we walked to our downtown store in the mooring, ate very simple lunch just worth 1.5 Yuan for each, and walked back home in the evening, thus we felt totally exhausted every day. We seemed to live through one whole year in such situation. (world of warcraft gold)

We tasted hardships and sorrows in those days.At that time, the business was my totem, while the love was her belief. These were all on which we could rely to go ahead.

One day, we walked home very late. She sat at the bed edge and washed her feet. I went to the landlord for boiled water to make instant noodles. When I came back with a thermos bottle, I found that she had fallen into a sound sleep. She kept a pose of being totally exhausted with her feet dunked in the basin. One of her arms was under her body, thus a light snore could be heard. I tiptoed to the bed with the intention of flipping her over to make her more comfortable. I gazed at her face, a young and pretty one which was filled with tiredness. On this pretty face, I found a mosquito.

That summer, the city was like a huge steamer box. We put off the time of buying a mosquito net one day after another just for saving money. I knew mosquitoes flew everywhere in our room, but it seemed nothing to me. So exhausted when lying on the bed, I doubted whether I would wake up even if someone cut a piece off my body, let alone mosquitoes bit me. (cheap wow gold)

The mosquito lay on her forehead and sucked her blood greedily. She was sleeping like a baby and feeling nothing at all. Perhaps she was dreaming of our business turning better. There came a sudden throb in my heart. I reached my hands and waved, but the mosquito cared nothing about my threat. With the intention of patting it to death, I raised my hand high, but could not bear to pat down. I was afraid of waking her up -- because she was so worn out.

Between her and me, a puny mosquito was harming her at the moment. I stood there woodenly with my hand in the air. I fell into conflict and worry. Suddenly, I began to detest myself deeply. On that summer night, I stood there with an extremely guilty feeling for her and our love. After the mosquito flew away, I forgave it, but I could not forgive myself.(buy wow gold)

When I passed by a peddler‘s stall one day, I found a pink mosquito net priced at 16 Yuan. Many things could be done with the money at that time. Then I stayed up the whole night, waving a hardboard to keep mosquitoes from approaching her just like a guard. I acted as her temporary mosquito net. After a while, she woke up and gazed at me. Ten minutes later, tears flooded her face.

T he next day a pink mosquito net hung in my room. We just kept silent when hanging it on our bed. I gave it to her as a gift, but I did not tell her my intention. I felt it was like a full-blown rose which could be regarded as my compensation for the love. But I thought that nothing could really make it up. That day was also her birthday. (World of warcraft gold)

Still later, there was a period of time, I got or we got 160,000 Yuan. We bought a lot of things, but we never bought a mosquito net. We did not need mosquito net any more, because no mosquito could fly into our well-decorated room. However, I always feel that all my money and belongings are far less valuable than the 16-yuan mosquito net to her or to our love.

That summer was gone. We could do nothing but love each other.

wedding dresses,
One of the wedding dresses biggest decisions you will face as the big day approaches is choosing the perfect wedding dress.wedding gowns The process of shopping for a wedding dress can be a fabulous adventure, wedding gowns, but it can also be stressful and overwhelming--particularly because a bride-to-be often starts shopping for her gown before many other details are determined.prom dresses,
You might have had a clear mental picture of the perfect wedding dress ever since you were five years old.prom dresses On the other hand, you may have no idea what you are going to wear or feel strange about the idea of wearing white.wedding dresses The important thing is to relax, and remember that there are as many different kinds of dresses out there as there are different kinds of brides.wedding dresses,
Plan Ahead Take a few minutes to think about what you want.wedding dresses It will be helpful when you enter the maze of wedding dresses out there to know what your budget is,wedding dresses, any details that are essential (i.e. I must have a full skirt, or my arms must be covered), and an idea of how traditional you want your dress to be. After all, wedding gowns, if really a teal pantsuit would work best for you, wedding gowns it's probably not worth your time to sort through racks of flouncy white gowns.
