Friends School Sale of Playing Fields 2007/08/06 18:23 Karma: 0
The sale of land is always a contentious issue when plans are being drawn up for a development.

The Friends school development has been very controversial, partly due to the impact on the surrounding area, and the ability for the area to support the extra demand placed upon it, and partly because of the number of people directly affected.

Please watch this forum for historical and new information on the proposed development plans.

The Man was very sad. He knew that the Cat’s days were numbered. The doctor had said there wasn’t anything more that could be done, that he should take the Cat home and make him as comfortable as possible.
The man stroked the Cat on his lap and sighed. The Cat opened his eyes, purred and looked up at the Man. A tear rolled down the Man’s cheek and landed on the Cat’s forehead. The Cat gave him a slightly annoyed look.
“Why do you cry, Man?”the Cat asded.“Because you can’t bear the thought of losing me? Because you think you can never replace me?”The Man nodded “yes.”
“And where do you think I’ll be when I leave you?”the Cat asked. The Man shrugged helplessly. “Close your eyes, Man,” the Cat said. The Man gave him a questioning look, but did as he was told.
“What color are my eyes and fur?” the Cat asked. “Your eyes are gold and your fur is a rich, warm brown,” the Man replied. (wow gold,)
“And where is it that you most often see me?”asked the Cat. “I see you…on the kitchen windowsill watching the birds…on my favorite chair…on my desk lying on the papers I need…on the pillow next to my head at night.” “Then, whenever you wish to see me, all you must do is close your eyes,” said the Cat.
“Pick up that piece of string from the floor——there, my ‘toy.’” The Man opened his eyes, then reached over and picked up the string. It was about two feet long and the Cat had been able to entertain himself for hours with it. “Now take each end of the string in one hand,” the Cat ordered. The Man did so.
“The end in your left hand is my birth and the end in your right hand is my death. Now bring the two ends together,” the Cat said. The Man complied.
“You have made a continuous circle,” said the cat.“Does any point along the string appear to be different, worse or better than any other part of the string?” The Man inspected the string and then shook his head “no.”
“Close your eyes again,” the Cat said.“Now lick your hand.” The Man widened his eyes in surprise.
“Just do it,” the Cat said.“Lick your hand, think of me in all my familiar places, think about all the pieces of string.” (wow gold)
The Man felt foolish, licking his hand, but he did as he was told. He discovered what a cat must know, that licking a paw is very calming and allows one to think more clearly. He continued licking and the corners of his mouth turned upward into the first smile he had shown in days. He waited for the Cat to tell him to stop, and when he didn’t, he opened his eyes. The Cat’s eyes were closed. The Man stroked the warm, brown fur, but the Cat was gone.
The Man shut his eyes hard as the tears poured down his face. He saw the Cat on the windowsill, then in his bed, then lying across his important papers. He saw him on the pillow next to his head, saw his bright gold eyes and darkest brown on his nose and ears. He opened his eyes and through his tears looked over at the circle of string he still held clutched in his hand.
One day, not long after, there was a new Cat on his lap. She was a lovely calico and white…very different from his earlier beloved Cat and very much the same

All you remember about your child being an infant is the incredible awe you felt about the precious miracle you created. You remember having plenty of time to bestow all your wisdom and knowledge. You thought your child would take all of your advice and make fewer mistakes, and be much smarter than you were. You wished for your child to hurry and grow up.

All you remember about your child being two is never using the restroom alone or getting to watch a movie without talking animals. wow power leveling, You recall afternoons talking on the phone while crouching in the bedroom closet, and being convinced your child would be the first Ivy League1 college student to graduate wearing pullovers2 at the ceremony. You remember worrying about the bag of M&M"s melting in your pocket and ruining your good dress. You wished for your child to be more independent.

All you remember about your child being five is the first day of school and finally having the house to yourself. You remember joining the PTA3 and being elected president when you left a meeting to use the restroom. You remember being asked “Is Santa real?” and saying “yes” because he had to be for a little bit longer. You remember shaking the sofa cushions for loose change4, so the toothfairy5 could come and take away your child"s first lost tooth. You wished for your child to have all permanent teeth.

All you remember about your child being seven is the carpool6 schedule. You learned to apply makeup in two minutes and brush your teeth in the rearview mirror1 because the only time you had to yourself was when you were stopped at red lights. You considered painting your car yellow and posting a “taxi” sign on the lawn next to the garage door. You remember people staring at you, the few times you were out of the car, because you kept flexing2 your foot and making acceleration3 noises. world of warcraft power leveling, You wished for the day your child would learn how to drive.

All you remember about your child being ten is managing the school fundraisers. You sold wrapping paper for paint, Tshirts for new furniture, and magazine subscriptions4 for shade trees in the school playground. You remember storing a hundred cases of candy bars in the garage to sell so the school band could get new uniforms, and how they melted together on an unseasonably5 warm spring afternoon. You wished your child would grow out of playing an instrument.

All you remember about your child being twelve is sitting in the stands6 during baseball practice and hoping your child"s team would strike out7 fast because you had more important things to do at home. The coach didn"t understand how busy you were. aoc power levelingYou wished the baseball season would be over soon.

All you remember about your child being fourteen is being asked not to stop the car in front of the school in the morning. You had to drive two blocks further and unlock the doors without coming to a complete stop. You remember not getting to kiss your child goodbye or talking to him in front of his friends. You wished your child would be more mature.

All you remember about your child being sixteen is loud music and undecipherable8 lyrics9 screamed to a rhythmic beat. You wished for your child to grow up and leave home with the stereo.

All you remember about your child being eighteen is the day they were born and having all the time in the world.

And, as you walk through your quiet house, you wonder where they wentand you wish your child hadn"t grown up so fast.
All you remember

Blaming credit cards f young adults' money woes is popular these days; high-school and college students are putting way too many college expenses and other charges on their cards, the thinking goes.
Wow Power Leveling,
But as credit-card issuers and Congress race to crack down on over-browing, do we risk barring the do so tightly that teens miss out on opptunities to learn financial responsibility?

In a recent article that bucks the popular wisdom about teen credit-card use, my colleague Karen Blumenthal cites a study that suggesting credit cards may be merely a scapegoat f a lack of family communication about money. Kids with credit cards aren't the reckless spendthrifts they've been ptrayed to be the study shows. College freshmen with credit cards carry only a $169 balance, on average, says this 2,000-student study at the University of Arizona. And me than 60% of the credit-card holders demonstrated exemplary credit management skills, paying the bill in full every month.
flyff power leveling,
To be sure, 70% of all the students surveyed (which included both teens with and without cards) showed bad financial judgment at times, failing to pay bills on time, maxing out credit cards taking payday loans. But the credit-card holders were no me less likely to commit these errs than students who lacked plastic. ,Instead, the significant fact was whether students had good communication about money with their parents; those who did, also had me control over their finances.
flyff power leveling,
Thus the current Congressional crackdown on teen credit-card use may amount to barring the wrong do. A new federal law that takes effect next year tightens rules governing credit-card issuance f people under 21. Banks and colleges are on the same path, sharply reducing teen access to credit without adult co-signs.
knight online power leveling,
The rules will hamper young adults who are ready to take me personal responsibility f their financial decisions, Karen says. In a pre-emptive strike I'm planning to emulate with my 18-year-old son, Karen has persuaded her 19-year-old daughter to get a credit card befe the new federal legislation takes effect. Managing the card will not only enable her to earn a good credit recd, but give her room to make her own mistakes when the consequences and dollar amounts are low, Karen says.
2moons power leveling,
We've posted befe on the challenges of encouraging your kids to learn money management in a recession and on teaching teens to spend responsibly. Readers, would you let your teen have a credit card? If you do, how would you teach them responsibility? Any pitfalls to avoid, in your view?
2moons power leveling,
